What a fake!

Posted by Marty on July 3rd, 2008

OK, this is not an actual catch by a ballgirl at any baseball game. It is a stunt woman rigged up with wires making what looks like an amazing catch in left field…still very funny!

George Carlin is Dead

Posted by Marty on June 23rd, 2008

Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s there was no escaping George Carlin. He was brilliant, obscene, shocking and funny.

He died Sunday night after going to the hospital complaining of chest pain.

I’ve never owned a Geroge Carlin CD or book. His style was never to my taste which is why I find it odd that while I was reading his past interviews and the news story about his passing that I found a quote that could have come from my own mouth.

“I was doing superficial comedy entertaining people who didn’t really care: Businessmen, people in nightclubs, conservative people. And I had been doing that for the better part of 10 years when it finally dawned on me that I was in the wrong place doing the wrong things for the wrong people,”

If I am bring honest, I feel much the same way about my last 8 years of performing Stand Up Comedy. Because I’ve censored myself so much that a lot of what I have delivered just wasn’t funny to me. Sure the audience laughed but inside I am thinking I can do so much better.

And I will.

Feed The Cat

Posted by Marty on May 29th, 2008

I hate cats…I mean, I don’t like them even a little bit.

Thanks to Gale Kerr for sending me this video on YouTube that shows everyone exactly why I believe that cats really are a tool of the devil.

Thoughts On Politics

Posted by Marty on March 28th, 2008

I am a huge fan of Bob Hope.
I love to talk politics EVEN THOUGH those on the right and those on the left label whatever they don’t understand the other extreme.

I saw this on Google today and thought it was worth sharing.

A Christian Marriage

Posted by Marty on January 11th, 2008

My wife and I just celebrated our 20th Anniversary and while I would like to tell everyone it has been a “cake walk”, I don’t want to lie. It hasn’t been. I also don’t want to paint the picture that our marriage has been without “challenges” or as I like to call them, “REALITIES” because it has been full of those.

On January 9th, 1988 my wife and I made public our decision to live the rest of our life as “ONE”. This is the way the Bible describes a marriage, that Two shall become One till death.

Today, divorce is not a popular issue but a very, very prominent one. And I wonder sometimes without judging the people in the divorce, if all of these marriages should have ended. Were the problems SO BIG that they couldn’t be overcome?

I don’t know.

I enjoy encouraging people to PRESS on in their marriages. A good marriage doesn’t just happen. You have to work for it and sometimes even FIGHT for it.

One of the real joys I get each year is to take part in Valentines Dinners and Marriage Conferences. Please look for me at an event near you.
