Jesus, Evangelicals and Aquarians

Posted by Marty on June 28th, 2007

I’ve often looked at the similarities of the ULTRA-LIBERAL and ULTRA-CONSERVATIVE groups in the United States and thought how incredibly alike they were.

Brink Lindsey contributes an article to Reason Magazine that looks at how the Jesus People and the Hippies both took part in creating the political and spiritual landscape of America today.

Interesting read that has some neat history lessons and trivial facts in it.

A few tidbits I found interesting:

  • The relationship that Arthur Blessitt has to our President.
  • How Oral Roberts came up with the idea to start a University.
  • The NEW GOSPEL being preached since the late 1970’s
  • Check the article out here.

Thanks to Mark Edwards for directing me to this video on YouTube.

    I thought this was interesting.

I’m not a fan of big hair music…but Bon Jovi was POP enough for me to listen to on occasion.

    Go To Hell?

We live in an I, Me, Mine culture. Not just the United States but IN the church in the United States. Our mindset is as long as we “have ours” everyone else can get their own. After all, the Lord helps those who helps themselves, right?

So, let em go to hell, right?
