I LOVE FOOD!

OK, my friends know that I am VERY ADVENTUROUS when it comes to food and in the Central-Ohio area we have limited options when looking for something out of the box or at least something that isn’t “fast food”.

More than eating food I love to COOK and have a dream to some day open a restaurant…but that is for another time.

In the Columbus suburb of Grove City, where I live, we have a bit of an earned reputation of being “redneck” (insert Foxworthy joke here) but over the last 20 years it has been the fastest growing suburb of Columbus because it has a decent school system, several parks, top notch police department, great access to downtown and the Columbus outer belt so getting around is easy and convenient without the hassle and annoynces that are common elsewhere in the city.

While all of those are good things, there is also a drawback in being so accessable to the freeway and a larger city, namely, every restaurant we get in the city is a franchise of anything else you would find near any mall.  Not really bad but since all of their menus are pretty much the same, dining out in Grove City can seem a bit common and if someone does put up a privately owned retaurant it is hard for them to establish their name with the locals because they are pre-conditioned to go elswhere for that sort of experience.

So, when a business like The Wooden Spoon Cooking Co. opens up in Grove City, I want to make sure I do everything I can to encourage people to support them.  The Wooden Spoon isn’t a restaurant it is a cooking service and that service includes cooking classes.

When you are in the Grove City area, check out The Wooden Spoon Cooking Company, they also sell cook books, spices and better brand cookware.
